This Privacy Policy explains how Ruqyah ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use ruqyah.app.
1. Information we collect
- Account data: your name, email address, and profile picture (if you sign in with Google).
- Content data: your bookmarks, progress marks, and Ask-a-Scholar questions.
- Payment data: we do not store your card, UPI or banking details. Payment tokens are handled entirely by Razorpay. We store only the order ID, payment ID, status and amount paid.
- Technical data: minimal cookies (session token), IP address in access logs, browser type.
2. How we use your information
- To authenticate you and personalize your experience.
- To route your Ask-a-Scholar questions to a scholar and deliver the answer back to you.
- To process payments and provide receipts.
- To improve the Service and communicate essential updates.
3. Third-party services
- Razorpay — payment processing (India). Governed by Razorpay's own privacy policy.
- Google Sign-In — optional login. We receive your name, email and profile picture only.
- Resend — transactional email delivery to the scholar/admin (used only for internal notifications).
- Quran audio — served from public CDNs (everyayah.com, mp3quran.net). Ruqyah does not track your listening activity.
4. Cookies
We use a single essential cookie, session_token, to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
5. Data retention
We retain your account data as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time by emailing calmruqyah@gmail.com. Payment records are retained per Indian tax laws.
6. Your rights
- Access, correct or delete your personal data.
- Withdraw consent (which may limit your ability to use paid features).
- Complain to the appropriate data protection authority.
7. Security
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Session tokens are transmitted over HTTPS via httpOnly, secure cookies. Payment tokens never touch our servers.
8. Children
Ruqyah is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us to remove it.
9. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change.
